Obituary

Adam Ludwig was lover of nature, and a seeker of love and light. A passionate follower of Shamanism and often could be found traveling the country to attend Native American drum ceremonies and even peyote rituals.

Shamans do not believe in the concept of Heaven and Hell. On the other side of life, there is only life. Death is but a doorway that each of us must pass on our journey home. Shamanic wisdom tells us that our body returns to the earth, our knowledge to the mountains, and our “Luminous Energy Field” returns to the stars to become one with the Spirit again.

On Thursday, January 2, 2020, Adam Ward Ludwig, loving son and brother, returned to the stars at the age of 37.

Adam was a talented musician and artist. He received his degree from The Art Institute of Chicago, but not before battling Hodgkin’s disease like a UFC badass, in 2003.

In 2004, Adam moved to New York to produced brilliant music. In 2005, New York Magazine named him “One of the 50 Most Beautiful People in New York”. The caption under his picture read, "Such a sweet face, with puppy-dog eyes, like the boy next door who’s a Calvin Klein model." Given that Adam had only lived in New York for six months, his brother, Gunnar remarked, “Adam’s not a New Yorker. He’s a Tourist.”

He went on to composed jingles for Macy’s, Coca Cola and Chrysler, to name a few.

For the past few years, Adam channeled his passion for art into 4-D animation and video mapping. Most recently created the holographic light display for The Eisenhower Dance Theater.

Adam was a warm, kind and gentle soul. Who loved children, dogs, cold beer, warm women and traveling to exotic places.

Enjoy your journey home, Adam. We will see you when we all return to the stars.

Adam is survived by his mother Karen Ward Ludwig, father Bill Ludwig, stepmother Barbara Ludwig, brother Gunnar Ludwig and four stepbrothers Zachary Shaben, Michael Shaben, Alex Yolles and David Yolles, along with dozens of aunts, uncle and cousins.
