Alan J. Arnett passed away on Friday, Febraury 28, 2020 at the age of 68.
Alan was born and grew up in Detroit where he attended primary school at St. Scholastica, graduated from Detroit Cathedral High School in 1970. After high school, he attended U of M Ann Arbor and majored Mechanical Engineering and also attended the University of Detroit Mercy, majoring in Philosophy.
Alan worked in Supply Chain mainly within the automotive industry at many companies including Ford Motor Co., Mitsubishi Automotive, Aero Flight Service, FX Coughlin, Amerermex, Kuehne + Nagel, he also was the director of RCIA at St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed volunteering at Gesu Catholic Church, following Detroit sports, politics and furthering his understanding of religion.
Loving husband of Karen for 19 years. Beloved father of Julia Arnett, Hannah Arnett, Matthew Arnett (Brecka), Andrew Arnett, Erin Stewart (Chad), and Christopher Arnett (Carrie). Grandfather of 8. Brother of Francesca Charley, Lisa Manchell (Tommy), Jamie Arnett (Debbie), Thomas Arnett (Wendy), Christina Bliss (Brian) and the late Barry Arnett.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Gesu Catholic Church, 17180 Oak Dr, Detroit, MI 48221. A light luncheon for Alan’s family and friends will follow the mass in the School Social Hall.
