Obituary

Alexander Willem van Acker left us suddenly on January 2, 2020 at the age of 30. Lex’s family is heartbroken that he left them so soon. Lex was a deeply loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Lex was a beautiful, sensitive, and gentle soul. He cared so much for those around him, and the love those around him felt and feel for him is indescribable. He had a great passion for many activities - from yoga, to rock climbing, to reading, to fishing, to mentoring robotics teams, and many more. His dedication to his hobbies was admirable and through those, he met incredible communities. He loved to help others and did so with patience and kindness.

He will always be our shining light, our bright star. His lovely smile will warm our hearts.

Beloved son of Wim Peter and Carin van Acker. Cherished brother of Bob (Adele) and Kiki (Sam). Loving grandson of Martha van Acker-Groot and the late Wim van Acker and Moni de Koning-Ypma and the late Antoon de Koning. Dearest nephew of Wilma Ramos-van Acker, Lino Moreira Pereira Ramos, Maurits de Koning, Marcel Reijmers, and Johan P. de Koning. Dear cousin of Quim van Acker Ramos, Camiel Moreira Pereira Ramos, Marloes de Koning, Bob de Koning, Tom de Koning, and René de Koning. Also survived by the loving family dog Fritz.

Family will receive friends Monday, January 6, from 4 - 8 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple and Big Beaver), in Troy.

The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, January 7 at 10 a.m. at Christ Church Cranbrook, 470 Church Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304. Visitation at church begins at 9:00 a.m.
