Obituary

Alice Eva Zimmer (nee Lieblang), born Nov. 18, 1933, passed peacefully on Sept. 25, 2018 surrounded by family. Alice is predeceased by her father Joseph, mother Olive (nee Doettl), siblings Joan (Mier), Irene (Fedor), Robert Lieblang, and Alice’s beloved husband of 63 years, Thomas R. Zimmer, Jr.

Alice is survived by her sister Olive Caroline (Coyne). Her children Karen Cobb, Cathy Zimmer, Thomas III, Paul Joseph, Marie Kadlec, William, their spouses, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alice was a proud, lifelong Detroiter, who prized faith and family beyond all else. Alice’s example of love and sacrifice for her family and for others will be equaled, but never surpassed. Alice’s spirit will live forever.

Alice will lie in state at St. Owen Catholic Church, 6869 Franklin Rd, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301, on Friday, September 28, 2018 beginning at 10:30am. Her Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00am.

It is Alice’s wish that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Detroit:
