Obituary

Bienvenido P. Esteban (also known as ‘Ben’) died peacefully in his home on July 3, 2019 surrounded by his family. Ben was born on March 22, 1942 in Laur, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Alfeo and Isabel Esteban. The youngest of 10 siblings, Ben earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at Wesleyan College in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, and then traveled to the United States in 1973 to find work in the “land of opportunity”. He started his journey in California and was persuaded to travel to Michigan where he met his beloved wife, Nemia, and began his 28-year long career at Ford Motor Company where he began in the assembly line, moving on to inspector, then completing an electrician apprenticeship at Henry Ford College in 1985, finally retiring as an electrician in 2001. Ben was a generous man that would do anything for his family members near and far. He helped numerous siblings, nieces and nephews in achieving their personal successes in life, and lived by the saying that “blood is thicker than water” - family were his friends, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Ben was a kind, humble, good man with a caring heart and tender soul, always putting everyone else’s needs above his own. His kindness, wisdom, and gentle love will always be cherished as he falls into the restful peace that he has long deserved. He was a hardworking man that taught his daughters to value hard work and compassion towards others. He deeply loved and cared for his wife, daughters, and immediate family and he was deeply loved by them in return.

He is survived by his wife, Nemia, daughters Jo Anne Esteban (Troy, MI), and Sarah (Jason) Cresswell (Midland, MI), grandsons, William, Levi and Henry Cresswell (Midland, MI), his siblings, Lydia Tiongson (Piscataway, NJ), Paciano Esteban (Laur, Nueva Ecija, Philippines), Gregorio Esteban (Corona, CA), and Lilia Bayro (Laur, Nueva Ecija, Philippines), along with many dear family members across the globe.

Family will receive friends Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. until Memorial Service 6:00 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Price Chapel), 3725 Rochester Road (between Big Beaver and Wattles) 248-689-0700.

~Lovingly submitted by the family~
