Obituary

Donald Wayne Durnil died April 22, 2019. He was 79 years old, born July 30, 1939 to Alma Durnil in Carroll County, VA. Wayne, as everyone knew him, honorably served in the United States Army in Germany. He worked as a mechanic during his tour of duty.

Following his time in the Army, Wayne started his own trucking company called WD Cartage. The company was responsible for hauling steel, and it was located in Dearborn, MI. Wayne successfully ran the company for 30 years until his retirement. When he wasn’t working, Wayne still enjoyed keeping himself busy. He could often be found using his countless tools tinkering, building, and fixing things. When he wasn't using his tools, he was most likely on the hunt for new ones. He was also passionate about his cars, and was most proud of the Studebaker pickup truck he restored himself.

Wayne was the beloved husband of Lois for 57 years. Dear brother of Marion (Margaret) and the late Kay Gravley. Loving brother-in-law of Randy Taylor, Shirley Taylor (Peggy), and Carol Taylor. Special friend of Bert, Jim, and Keith.

Funeral Service Friday, 11a.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Price Chapel), 3725 Rochester Road (between Big Beaver and Wattles) 248-689-0700. Family will receive friends Thursday 3-8p.m at the funeral home.

Memorial tributes to 1st United Methodist Church of Troy.
