Dr. Roehrig was a lot of things to many people. Lou was a loving husband, an exceptional father and grandfather, a leader to his family and a friend to many people. He graduated from University of Detroit Dental School in June of 1960. He served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army, First Calvary Division in Korea. Dr. Roehrig was one of the best Dentists to ever practice in Macomb County, specifically in Mt. Clemens, where he practiced for many years. He also volunteered for 15 years to serve as Civil Service Commissioner for Harrison Township, where he and his family resided for over 40 years. Lou gave generously, both in time and philanthropically to others. He changed lives for the better and that was an important part of the legacy he wanted to leave behind.
Lou, with his wife Kathy and his sons were fortunate to travel the world with him and part of those trips frequently involved big game hunting and fishing. His favorite thing to do in his later years was simply sit in his deer blind at the family farm and marvel at nature and all the blessings this world bestowed on him.
Visitation will be on Sunday March 8th from 12 noon until 3:30 PM at A.J Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd (between Maple and Big Beaver), Troy. A Roman Catholic service celebrating Dr. Roehrig’s life will be held immediately following visitation at 3:30 on the same day, March 8th at the funeral home.
