Mr. ECKHARDT W. ZIMMERMANN, age 56, died on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was born on May 24, 1955 in Staade, Germany, and had been a longtime resident of Sterling Heights for over 30 years.
Mr. Zimmermann graduated from Seaholm High School in 1973.
He was an auto mechanic, and had worked for the Jim Muir dealership for 15 years. He also had worked in Quality Control fixing manuals at the GM Tech Center in Warren.
Mr. Zimmermann loved music, and his favorite was playing the guitar. He was a member of several rock bands. He was an avid fan of Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Alice Cooper. He also loved sports cars.
Family and friends will remember him as being the life of the party – he was very much a people person. He had a great sense of humor. He always gave advice, and anyone could tell him anything. Mr. Zimmermann loved his family, and worried about them constantly.
He was very accepting of his illness and exhibited a strong faith.
