Obituary

Eduardo was a graduate of the Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines.

He was a longtime civil engineer for Cebu City in the Philippines.

Eduardo enjoyed playing the piano and many other instruments. He was self taught and could play just from listening. He was also a member of the choir at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

He loved history and literature. He was very religious and generous and was always there for his family.

Beloved husband of Isabel for 60 years. Dear father of Arabella Buot (Leo), Lorena Carcedo (the late Benjamin), Alcesa Backos M.D. (Eric M.D.), Farida Cipres (Raymond), Gizela Abelgas, Ildebrando John Abelgas (Mary Ann) and the late Laredo Abelgas. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brother of Bernabela Abelgas in the Philippines. Preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.

Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 3-8p.m. Prayers Friday evening.

Funeral Mass Saturday 9:30a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield, 48323. Visitation at church begins 9a.m.

Memorial tributes to the church or Alzheimer's Association.
