Obituary

Edward Katschanow, 81, and beloved husband of Bonnie for 55 years, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019.

He was a hardworking man who came from Ukraine to the U.S. in 1950 and was always proud of his Ukrainian roots.

Edward was born in Kharkov, Ukraine on December 27, 1937 to the late John and Ernestine Katschanow. His was a smart man with a mind for engineering. He worked mainly in the automotive industry, and proudly started his own engineering company in the 1980’s. He had a great skill set of getting anything to work.

A hard working family man. Edward was old school. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed family and friends. Christmas time was his absolute favorite. He especially enjoyed dancing with his wife Bonnie, and playing Santa for his Grandchildren. His smile would light up a room. Edward will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Loving father of Tanya Dargusch (James W.), Jennifer Schmidt, and Kevin Kachan (Laura).

Doting Tatu of Katrina Dargusch, Jarrett Dargusch, Lucia Kachan.

Brother of Mia Brezinski (late Yuri), Anton Jewsikow (Erna), Victor Jewsikow (Judy) and the late Eugenia Kusmenko (late Dimitri). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd (between Maple and Big Beaver), Troy.

Interment will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery.
