Obituary

Edwin Oehring, a man of great faith, died on December 2, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rozanne, his loving children, Kathy Smith (Jim), Mark Oehring, and Doreen Rodriguez (Gil), his cherished grandchildren, Matt, Kim (Adam), Ashley (Ricardo) and great grandchildren, Ben and Brady. Ed is also survived by his step-daughters, Erica Boettcher (Tom) and Andrea Traylor, step-granddaughter, Emma and his sister, Marilyn Wielczopolski. Preceding him in death are his first wife, Lois, infant daughter, Kim and his brother, Leo "George" Oehring.

His hobbies included fishing, enjoying easy listening music, playing cards with Rozanne, and reading anything from Reader's Digest to The Michigan Catholic. You would quite often find him spending quality time with his best feline friend, Alley too.

A Funeral Mass for Ed will be celebrated on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 581 E. Fourteen Mile Rd., Clawson. Visitation at the church begins at 10:30AM.

Those wishing to make donations in Ed's memory may do so to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

Welcome to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen Web Site Welcome to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, a ministry of the Capuchin Province of St Joseph. Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, we tend to people’s basic needs, especially the need for food. We also stimulate minds, nourish spirits, and attempt to address root causes of social injustice. Founded in 1929 by Capuchin friars Solanus Casey and Herman Buss, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen serves the people of metro Detroit. We welcome you…whether you are a guest in need of a hand up, a volunteer willing to assist, or a donor willing to support. Welcome to our ministry.
