ELAINE ELSIE ZUROFSKY, age 78, of Rochester, Michigan, died on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Southfield. She was born on September 30, 1933 in Detroit to John and Elsie Otberg Probert.
She attended Mackenzie High School, Dearborn High School, and Eastern Michigan University.
Elaine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and a caring homemaker. She met her husband-to-be, Bob, in high school and they married in 1954.
She was an avid lover of dogs, and also raised Leader Dogs (Golden Retrievers).
She enjoyed going Up North, in particular Manistee, and would walk the beaches – she absolutely loved sunsets. Elaine liked going on road trips, and camping – even tent-camping.
Her family and friends will remember her as a fun and sweet person to be around. She was a very good cook, and was the best hostess at her Thanksgiving Dinners. She also loved flowers and was devoted to her garden.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 5, 2012, from 3-9 PM at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, Michigan (between Maple and Big Beaver Roads).
The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6, 2012 – 12:00 Noon at Faith Lutheran Church, 37635 Dequindre, Troy, Michigan, with The Rev. Warren Arndt officiating. Visitation at church begins Tuesday at 11 AM.
