High School in 1952 and attended King’s Business College in Charlotte, N.C. and Houston Baptist College in Houston, Texas. For more than 40 years she was a resident of Michigan, living in Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills, and resided 10 years in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. She was a longtime volunteer at Beaumont Hospital and while president was appointed to Beaumont’s Board of Trustees, where she served 14 years. She was an active member of Birmingham First United Methodist Church, the first woman to serve as President of the church’s Board of Trustees. While living in South Carolina she attended Grace Episcopal Church in Charleston. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, in Michigan (Chapter DD) and in S.C. (Chapter Z).

For most of her life she had a passion for learning and had many interests. Whatever she did, she did with intensity, enthusiasm and excellence. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bridge, golf, genealogy, collecting antiques, and travel, but most of all she delighted in spending time with family and friends and being helpful to others. She was an accomplished hostess and one of her greatest gifts was her ability to meet new friends and maintain relationships across the miles and years.
