Obituary

FREDERIC (Fast Freddy) ADAMS of Beverly Hills, Michigan, died on Monday, March 8, 2010, at age 91. Fred was born on a sugar cane farm on the South Side of Bayou Lafourche near Thibodaux, Louisiana.

He joined the Army in 1941 and was stationed in Europe during part of his 37 years of government service. During World War II and stationed in England, he met his 'waterloo' enjoying a wonderful marriage to Joan for 63 years. They resided in Kentucky for a short time while Fred worked at Fort Knox before settling in Michigan. Fred then took a position at the U.S. Army's Tank Automotive Command, retiring as Acting Director of the Plans & Analysis Directorate.

Fred's surviving family includes his wife Joan, children Cherisse (Ken), Chuck (Maureen) and Rico (Wanda), and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Fred had a very active life. He enjoyed music, played the bass fiddle in a Louisiana jazz band, hunted deer and duck in Germany, was an avid photographer, tended his cherished rose garden, spent summers sailing and serving on the race committee on Lake St. Clair, was widely published in many newspapers, relished a Manhattan (or two), and above all things, loved to tell a good joke. Did I tell you the one about....
