Obituary

George Abiadal was born on November 15, 1931 in Damascus, Syria. His parents were Toufic and Alexandra (nee Khoury) Abiadal and they were of Syrian descent. He died on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He was 81 years of age.

George was a resident of Bloomfield Hills for 32 years and a former resident of Lebanon. He attended the American University of Beirut. He immigrated to the United States in 1978 and was proud to become a United States citizen in 1983. He was a longtime Real Estate broker and developer in the Detroit area. He enjoyed music, reading, history, science, research and foreign news. He spoke French, Arabic and English fluently.

George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Beloved husband of Martha Abiadal (nee Polo) and they were married for 43 years. Dear father of Rami (Donna), Lara Maki (Derek) and Steven (fiancée Mary Leary). Grandfather of Jessica, Chiara, Natalie, Lucas and Ethan. Brother of Eva Mitri (Moufid). Also several nieces and nephews. Also survived by many relatives and friends throughout the world. His family appreciates the loving care of the nurses at Henry Ford Hospital.


Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 20th at Christ Church Cranbrook, 470 Church Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI (Lone Pine Rd. west of Woodward Ave.).

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to Christ Church Cranbrook or Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit can be made in George's name.
