Obituary

HELEN R. ZIMMERMAN
October 17, 1925 ~ January 18, 2017

Helen (known as Nina) to her grandchildren was a women before her times. She was the seventh child in a family of ten children born to polish immigrants- Julia and Andrew Potok. She was bilingual, speaking both Polish and English. After graduating from high school she would have loved to have gone to college to study finance but instead began a career working for the Internal Revenue Service. She spent eighteen years working for the government until she married her husband Jim at the age of 34 and had her two children Mary Therese and Christa.

Helen's life centered around her church, family and friends. When she was not busy cooking, knitting or running with her children she found time to attend daily communion, pray the rosary and the liturgy of hours with her husband Jim. She also enjoyed participating in a bible study in which he taught and he described her as his best student!

Nina was a constant source of stability, laughter and fun. She loved to joke, and add witty comments to any conversation. She was a fabulous gift giver and loved sending packages to family and friends from QVC.

Although she will be missed we know that she was ready to meet Jesus and has already begun her ministry in heaven where she will once again be a prayer warrior with our papa!
