Helen Zera, age 84, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born February 24, 1921, in Windber, Pennsylvania. Resident of Royal Oak (Alexander Nursing Home) for 7 years, and former resident of Sterling Heights, Michigan and St. Helen, Michigan.
Mrs. Zera had worked for Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company, and also was a ‘Rosie the Riveter’ during WW II.
She was a Girl Scout Leader, and Den Mother with the Cub Scouts, and was a cheerleader coach at Holy Name in Detroit. She was a member of the VFW.
Mrs. Zera was very creative – she enjoyed home crafts, and cake decorating – and was a weaver, and a seamstress. Also in the kitchen she liked to do canning. And for relaxation, she enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a loving mother and very devoted to her grandsons.

Funeral Service Sunday, April 3, 2005 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home, with Deacon Johnny Vanneste officiating.
Interment: White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan
