Obituary

Janet June Anding, 86, and beloved wife of Edward for 67 years, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019.

A true matriarch. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend of many. Janet devoted her life to her family and to her faith. She instilled these same values in her children and was so proud to see it flourish in her great-grandchildren.

Janet was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 11, 1933 to the late John and Eleanor Adams. She was blessed to find the love of her life, Edward Anding, and the two of them enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage together. While their children were young, Janet was always active in their lives and encouraged them to pray before leaving the house. This still stands true with all of them.

Her kindness was felt by anyone who crossed her path. She had the ability to make you feel like the most important person in her life by just having a conversation with her. She was a lovely woman with a grace that calmed anyone in her presence, but she had no problem making her presence felt if the situation arose. She loved to watch the Detroit Tigers and get the family together for any occasion she could. But it was her devotion to her family that she will be remembered most.

Beloved wife of Edward for 67 years. Loving mother of John Anding (Eileen), Brian Anding (Shelly), and Jackie Anding. Dear grandmother of Nathan Anding (Debra), Leigh Born (Jon), Brian Anding Jr. (Amber), Morgan Anding, Eric Anding (Cyndi), Anya Stewart (Alec), and Ethan Anding. Great grandmother of Jackson, Ethan, Noah, Noelle, Vincent, Eilan, Felicity, Adelade, Elijah, Mariana, Keegan, Bryson, McKenna, and two more on the way. Sister of Jacob Adams (Sandra) and the late Charles Adam (the late Phyllis), Mark Adams, and Larry Adams. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm Rosary followed by a sharing of memories at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile), Royal Oak, (248) 549-0500.

Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 10, 2019, 10am at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 12 Mile Rd., Royal Oak. Visitation at church begins 9:30am.
