Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Lakshmi Gontina of Troy MI, 75 years old, on June 24th, 2019. The beloved wife of the late Dr. Haribabu Gontina. She is survived by two children, Shylaja (Sandeep), and Udaya (Andrea), and 5 adored Grandchildren Nikhil 18, Ajay 14, Dhilan 12, Avani 12 and Harrison 8.

Born in Visakhapatnam, and earning a medical degree at Andhra Medical College, she practiced Pediatrics for nearly 40 years. She was an accomplished Violinist, Singer, Dancer, proud member of the Detroit Telegu Association and Life Member of the Bharatiya Temple.

Services will be held on Saturday June 29 at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd (Between Maple and Big Beaver) Troy.

Puja: 11:00 - 11:30 AM

Viewing: 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Private Family Cremation: 1 PM at White Chapel

In lieu of flowers please make donations in her honor to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
