Obituary

Marcelline Mae Pegley (Marc y) age 91 passed away June, 4, 2019 at Brittany Manor Nursing Facility in Midland, MI. Preceded in death by beloved husband William(Bill) Pegley, brothers Walter Proux and Raymond Proux and sisters Marie Poulos and Maureen Bouchey. Survived by daughters Ann Marie Comiskey (Pat) and Suellen Williams (Mark) grandchildren Jennifer Logan (John III) and Justin VanTassel (Sara); great grandchildren Seann VanTassel, Riley Ann Logan and Baillie VanTassel; and siblings Louanne Klonowski, Robert Proux and George Proux.

Marcy was one of eight children born to Walter and Marie Proux of Saginaw, Michigan. She married William Pegley on May 17, 1947 and was a devoted wife for 63 years prior to Bill's death in 2010. Marcy and the girls moved as Bill moved up in his career as a hotel manager living in Saginaw Michigan, Utica New York, Detroit Michigan and Troy Michigan before moving to Midland Michigan when she became ill. Bill and Marcy enjoyed traveling in later years, but not nearly as much as life at their cottage on Wixom Lake in Beaverton.

Marcy enjoyed crocheting and most often gave her afghans away to friends, family and local charities. She loved her grandchildren, Jen and Justin, but found special joy in great grand-children Seann, Riley and Baillie. She enjoyed visiting her daughter and family in Florida during the winter months and then returning to her Michigan family the rest of the year. An avid sports fan, Marcy was known as "MotownMarcy" on her social media accounts. She especially enjoyed watching University of Michigan football, basketball and hockey as well as the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings. You would often find her at her grandson's Lacrosse games cheering on whatever team he was involved in as a player or coach. Marcy's Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life as she found comfort in daily prayer and reading a variety religious devotionals.

The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4580 N. Adams Rd., Troy. Visitation at church begins at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Troy Community Coalition, 4420 Livernois, Troy, MI 48098.
