Obituary

MARGARET JEAN ZETYE

November 14, 1928 – June 14, 2017

Margaret Jean Rutz was born on November 14, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents were George William and Mary Bernice (nee Hassett) Zetye and they were of Irish and German descent. She died on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Ambrosia Villa in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Margaret was 88 years of age.

Peg was a former resident of Detroit and was a 1946 graduate of Redford High School. She attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH and a proud member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Prior to becoming a devoted homemaker, Peg was a legal secretary and a former head of the stenographic pool at the National Bank of Detroit. She was formerly an active churchwoman at Peace Lutheran Church, Southfield where she was member of the Welca Women's Group Choir. Peg enjoyed china painting, housekeeping, gardening, current events, daily newspapers and summers in Northern Michigan.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Louis P. Zetye and they were married for 63 years. Dear mother of Douglas C. Zetye and David L. Zetye (Laurie). Loving grandmother of Sarah and Shauna. Peg is survived by her devoted sister Nancy Doyle (the late Keller). Predeceased by her sister, Mary Lou Robins (the late Perk). Also many nieces and nephews. Family is grateful for the loving care at Ambrosia Villa.

The Zetye Family will receive friends Monday, June 19, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, MI 48073. The Reverend Timothy E. Larson officiating.
