Obituary

MARY ACHRAM

January 5, 1928 - January 14, 2017

ACHRAM, MARY. Passed away on January 14, 2017 at age 89. She was a resident of Troy for over 50 years.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Stanley; dear mother of Larry (Denise), Mary (Gary) Gnyp,
Stanley (late Michelle) and Cathy (Donnie) Ruble; grandmother of Steven (Nichole) Achram,
Michael (Jen) Richard, Angela (Brandon) Whitmore, Jayson (Erin) Achram, Stanley (Christina) Richard, Heather (Dan) Bandy, Laura (Gabriel) Gnyp LaMore and Brandon Ruble; and great-grandmother of Stanley, McKenna, Evelyn, Matt, Isabella, Emma, Samuel, Luke, Connor, Olivia and Hayley.

Mary was a very devoted and active member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Detroit, Michigan, for many years. She served on the Parish Council, and was also a very active and loyal member of Holy Trinity's Pokrova Sisterhood, where she held offices on the Executive Board. Mary was dedicated to visiting ill and shut-in parishoners and Sisterhood members, always sending them copies of the weekly Church bulletin ("The Trinitarian") so that they would be kept informed of parish life at Holy Trinity. Together with her late husband, Stan, she worked tirelessly at many Church activities and events. These included the Holy Trinity Fall Festivals, Parish picnics, Sisterhood bake sales and Easter Bread ("Paschas") baking projects. Mary could often be found in the Parish kitchen preparing, cooking and serving delicious meals at Holy Trinity's banquets, along with other members of the Sisterhood.

48234. Mary will lie in state at 9:30 am, with services beginning at 10 am. V. Rev. Lev Kopistiansky will officiate. The committal service will immediately follow at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
