Obituary

Mary Jo (Schneider) Dickerson - Beloved Wife, Daughter, Sister, Loving Aunt and Friend.

She had a glowing personality and lit up the room when she entered. She made people feel that the good in the world still existed. When she talked, she spoke from her heart, when she listened she heard every word.

Mary Jo had a zest for life, but was taken far too soon after a 33 month battle with stage 4 colon cancer. During her battle, she didn’t complain or give up, she pushed on and believed that everything was going to be ok.

Mary Jo was born August 20, 1957 to Jack and Virginia Boetsch. She graduated from Bishop Borgess High School and where she loved being a Cheerleader. Mary Jo worked at Lasher High School for an impressive 30 years where she was dedicated to the population. She never forgot a student’s name or face (not to mention their parents as well). Her tireless work ethic and dedication even won the employee of the year. Mary Jo even graduated Walsh College while working full time.

Mary Jo was devoted to her family and her faith to the Catholic Church. She loved her cats and dogs. She volunteered for the Michigan Humane Society serving animals and people. She was a Master Gardener and loved being outdoors. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, making quilts and sewing. Mary Jo and her sister have a large collection of Barbie dolls that they shared throughout many years.
