Obituary

Mary Lynn McLachlan

Born February 3rd, 1931. Died April 19th, 2019, age 88 years. Beloved wife of Roderick Sr. for nearly 60 years, loving mother of Roderick Jr. (Soodabeh Khosropur) and the late Amy Lynn. Sister of Dennis Wheeler (Mary) and the late Francis R. Wheeler. Also survived by God-sons Steven Wheeler, Mark Berg (Kelley) and Daniel Murray (Mimi), nieces Mary Whitwam (Mark), Sheila Haymond (John) and Lynn Kloc (Ron), nephews Mark Wheeler (Leslie), Kevin Wheeler (Suzanne), Greg Artley (Dana) and John Murray (Lisa) and Frank Wheeler Jr.

She is also survived by a multitude of friends and neighbors she made over a long lifetime due to her special talent for friendship. Mary Lynn’s infamous sense of humor and love of conversation made her a sought after companion and guest. Famous for her spur of the moment quips and zingers, she is often quoted and left an indelible impression on everyone who met her.

Mary Lynn was also celebrated for her love of beautiful clothes, Ford Mustangs and a splash of red wine now and again. Many friends and family consulted with her on everything from wedding dresses and formal attire to interior design. A wide circle of family and friend’s grandchildren started life in her baby shower gifts.

Widely known for her compassion and dedication to her Catholic faith,
Mary Lynn’s great sorrow over the loss of her daughter Amy is now eased as they will repose together at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, just as they now live together in heaven.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 3-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile), (248) 549-0500.

Funeral Mass Wednesday 11am at St. Regis Catholic Church, 3695 Lincoln at Lahser Rd., Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins at 10:30am.

Memorial tributes to St. Vincent de Paul Society or Michigan Humane Society.
