MATTHEW EARL ZELLEN December 2, 1972 - July 29, 2013, age 40 of Bloomfield Hills, died with his Dad, Earl, in an accident on Lake Dubawnt in the Northwest Territories, Canada.
While Matt had many professional accomplishments and individual pursuits, his true passion was his family. He was the beloved husband of Debbie and an involved and loving father to 3 year olds Addison and Walker. Matt was the pride of Mom (Linda) and Dad (Earl); loyal brother of Dave (Nikki) and Mike (Meghann); loving Uncle; and Friend to many.
Matt was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to share that passion with others, especially his kids; and an entrepreneur, who founded and was president of two companies – ZI Custom focused on high end construction and trade show fabrication and Detroit Outfitters, a retail store selling work and outdoor clothing.
Family will receive friends Friday 4–8p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile).
Memorial Mass Saturday 10a.m. at Saint Mary Magdalen, 2201 Old US 23 Highway, Brighton.
