Obituary

Patricia Racine died peacefully February 15 at the age of 96.

She was married to Joseph Racine for 63 years. After Joseph retired in 1982, they enjoyed nearly 30 years of good health in retirement. She continued in good health until just before her death. Joseph worked long hours so Patricia assumed much of the daily responsibility for managing the home and raising three children. She enjoyed visiting with her large family, as well as friends and neighbors. She grew up in Royal Oak, where she met Joseph after World War II.

Patricia loved to play cards and was an avid bingo player, even into her 90s. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and loved babies. An avid reader of mystery novels. Known for hosting many family picnics and parties; she enjoyed getting all the family together in informal settings. She also loved the annual family vacation and some trips to exotic places with friends and relatives.

Patricia is survived by her three children; Barbara Racine (James Vance), Steven Racine (Pamela) and Roger Racine (Gerry), plus four beloved grandchildren; Angela Racine, Maryann Sargent (Russell), Kevin Racine (Sarah Peacock) and Stephanie Racine. She is also survived by three great grandchildren (Wesley and Natalie Sargent and Calvin Racine) and many special nieces and nephews.
