Obituary

PAUL JAMES MILLER -- LOVING HUSBAND, GRANDFATHER, FATHER, AND FRIEND

Paul James Miller was devoted to his family. He worked for nearly forty years at Inductoheat Corporation, was an active member of Birmingham Unitarian Church, and he maintained a constant and ever-growing network of friends from these communities among the many he considered himself a part of. He died peacefully at the home he shared with his wife.

Paul James Miller was born in Detroit on June 15, 1928, the son of William and Edith Miller. He was the fifth of six children -- two brothers, Melvin and William, and three sisters, Antoinette, Lucille, and Lois. He attended Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan, and served as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On January 16, 1952, he married Marie, his dearest friend, companion, and love. They enjoyed 68 years together. He is survived by his wife Marie Elaine Miller, his son, Derek Paul Miller, and daughter in law, Suzanne Alousi-Miller, and his grandchildren Owen Majid Miller and Laith Paul Miller. Along with them, his many nieces and nephews from families through birth and marriage filled his heart and life with love and joy.

Throughout their lives Paul and Marie skied and golfed with gusto and abandon. They both enjoyed life-long friendships with fellow lovers of these sports.
