Obituary

Richard Carey Snee of Birmingham, Michigan passed away August 13, 2019 at the age of 91. He is survived by Charlotte, his wife of 65 years and Suzanne (Michael) LaFave, Katherine (Ron) Francek, Richard (Sharon Frederick), seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was born in Massillon, Ohio, December 7, 1927, the youngest child of James Edmund and Anna Mary Carey Snee. He attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1953. His career as a CPA led him to jobs in Ohio, Indiana, South America, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Upon retirement from Rockwell International’s Corporate office in Pittsburgh, he returned to Michigan and enjoyed being close to his family.

An intelligent, hardworking, kind and loving man, he possessed a great sense of humor which he exhibited right until the end. He faced the limitations of Parkinson’s disease with unwavering courage and grace. He will be missed by so many.

The family would like to thank all those who helped with his care, especially Theone, Stacey, Carol, DaShawn, Dave, Evelyn and the team from Residential Hospice.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 20, 2019, 4-8pm at the A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile), (248) 549-0500.

Memorial Mass Wednesday, August 21, 2019, 10am at the Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon St., Birmingham.
