He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Western Michigan University and his MBA from the University of Detroit. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was a data processing manager for General Motors/EDS for 35 years.
Richard was a member of Cottrellville Twp. Zoning Board and a board member of the home Owner’s Association for Copperlear subdivision in Bonita Springs, Florida.
He enjoyed boating, golf and Michigan football. He was a member of the St. Clair River Country Club and a former member of Red Run Country Club.
Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Edward. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Megan and Jack. Also survived by many cousins and close friends.
Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile) Sunday 4-8pm.
Funeral Mass Monday 10am at St. Regis Church, 3695 Lincoln (at Lahser), Bloomfield Hills. Visitation begins at church 9:30am.
