Obituary

Robert Edwin Booth, 51, died February 14, 2019 in Birmingham, Michigan.

Bobby was born on March 27, 1967 to Ann and Bill Booth, the youngest of four children.

Bobby attended Birmingham Seaholm High School, where he made life-long friends. Taking after his mother, he was a natural at tennis and nearly every sport he encountered. Earlier, he played on a Birmingham Little League Championship team. He later attended Northwestern Michigan University.

Bobby had a remarkable career, first working as a fashion model in international print campaigns, and as a drummer in a popular Los Angeles rock band. In later years, he embraced more conventional work, and became a very well-respected carpenter.

Bobby was an avid outdoorsman, sharing his father’s love of hunting, fishing, and everything about the natural world. He was among the very first to experiment with snowboarding and was a very accomplished rider. Bobby had a lifelong love of performing and appreciating music. He was a voracious reader, and could hold his own in deep, thoughtful conversations with the most respected minds - which he routinely did. He was most at home in Colorado and Michigan’s Walloon Lake and Upper Peninsula, where he thrived. Most significantly, he had a gift and a love for building deep, long-lasting friendships. There was no truer friend than Bobby Booth.

Bobby is survived by his parents, Ann and Bill. His sisters Jennifer Lemaigre (Olivier), Debbie Crouch (John), and brother Bill (Vicki). He will be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews: Nick, Joey, Sarah, Alex, Claire, William, and Thomas. His best friend Karyn Stone, and her children Geena and James.

Memorial Service Saturday, May 4, 2019, 11am at St. James Episcopal Church, 355 W. Maple, Birmingham.
