Obituary

Vishwas (Vish) Y. Bawle passed away on February 16, in his home due to complications arising from a very rare form intestinal sarcoma, known as gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST). Although he was diagnosed in 2014, he experienced a sudden and rapid decline approximately four weeks prior to his passing.

Vish strongly believed that his was but one life within the entire universe and the circle of life contained by it. In accordance with his wishes, his family held a small and private memorial service on February 19.

Vish is survived by his wife of 48 years, Erawati; his daughter, Ulka; his son, Awinash; his son-in-law, Scot; his two granddaughters, Sonali and Shreya; and his two sisters, Kanan and Vinaya.

Memorials may be sent, in lieu of flowers, to the Foundation Fighting Blindness to help find a cure for retinitis pigmentosa: a condition that causes premature blindness, and afflicts his sister. Please find more information at the link below:
